Joining a group on Klal Chat
Klal Chat is group chat over ordinary text messages. Every group has its own phone number: members text that number to post, and every post reaches the group as a regular text — no app, no internet, no account.

Two ways to join
- With the group's join code. Every group has a short code, shared by its members or admin. Text JOIN plus the code — for example JOIN WS4NJZ — to the group's number. Put your name after the code — JOIN WS4NJZ Moshe Friedman — and that's the name the group sees. Leave it off and you'll be asked for one: a group never shows a message without a name on it, so you can't post until you text your name back. You'll get one confirmation text; from then on, anything you text that number goes to everyone in the group.
- By invitation. A group admin can add your number. You then get exactly one invitation text naming who added you, and you join only by replying YES to it. If you never reply, you receive nothing further.
Nobody receives group messages without opting in through one of these two paths, and we keep a record of every opt-in.

- Message and data rates may apply.
- To cancel: text STOP to your group's number at any time. You'll receive no further messages from it.
